An Invitation to Church of Christ
Welcome to the Choolaimedu Church of Christ where God is exalted, service provided to humanity and soul saving word preached in love.
4 Christians began to worship and work in 1985 in a schoolhouse. Now grown to 40,000 The Plans used are unique and proven effective. You are invited prayerfully to participate in the following services.
Choolaimedu Church of Christ was started over 22 years ago when a young evangelist, Paul Renganathan, took to the streets to give the good news of Jesus Christ to all who would listen. Today the Church has many outreach ministries plus a thriving Bible college.
The Bible College has up to 100 students a year attending a 3-year degree course and five years post graduate programme. When the students have completed the course they then go and preach the good news in their localities, often starting in a home until they outgrow that and start a church. There are now over 981 churches through out Asia linked to this work.
Each preacher needs to support himself as he starts preaching. Many have small enterprises e.g. an auto-rickshaw in which cassette tapes are played allowing the passengers to listen to God’s word whilst they travel.
Free Bibles and Hymn Books: these are distributed through out the area. The Faith Hospital seeks to deliver complete care for the body and the soul by giving free check ups, medication and advice to the poor, plus the opportunity to pray with a member of staff.
Mobile Health Clinic: this has a similar remit to the Faith Hospital. It is housed in a bus, which can travel to outlying areas and take healthcare to those who could not possibly access such services.
Mobile Gospel Team: this uses the transport to go and teach the good news of Jesus Christ.
Children’s Homes As the preachers minister in the various areas many have been approached to adopt orphans or very poor children from the streets. They have shown compassion and opened up their homes. The homes are being kept small in order to make sure the mental, physical, social and spiritual well-being is cared for.
Wheelchair Distribution Wheelchairs have been distributed to a variety of beneficiaries who gratefully received the life-changing gift of a new chair
School The newest vision is for a Christian school. The aim of the school is to provide quality education to the privileged that have the ability to pay for their education. At the same time this will provide a quality education for 200 under privileged, untouchables and outcasts under the same roof, free of cost. |
